Controversial, it would come from Russia or the Mediterranean (Spain, Malta)

The body is long and elegant. The skeleton is fine. The Russian Blue has powerful muscles.

The weight is between 2.5 and 3.5 kg for females, and between 3.5 and 5 kg for the male.

This cat is characterized by its short fur, very fine, slightly upright as lint. Soft, silky, it is double with a very dense undercoat.

The end of guard hair has a silver color that gives a shiny fur, like sprinkled money.

The variety of Russian blue mid-length hair is called the Nebelung

Its thick, fluffy dress is one color "blue-gray" united and clear with a silver reflection (light gray uniform and tipping = silver).

Besides the color blue, there are also black or white dresses.

The eyes are large, fairly wide apart, almond-shaped (almost round, just oval). Set slightly oblique. Eye color is bright green (emerald green).

cat brisk, athletic and intelligent player. However, it is discreet, with a soft and melodious meowing. The Russian Blue is active without being turbulent.

Independent, conservative, authoritarian need, it does not tolerate coercion.

This is a homebody and suspicious chat to strangers but kind to its owner. It is sociable with other animals.

He did not particularly like the noise nor the children and prefer tranquility and a quiet family life.

It adapts well to apartment living but appreciate the garden as a formidable hunter.
