AMERICAN shorthair

De taille moyenne, l’American shorthair est un chat rustique et au physique typique du chasseur. Il est très athlétique, le corps bien musclé.

Son poil est court, dense et bien lustré. Il doit être régulièrement réparti sur le corps.

Tous les motifs sont acceptés sauf le colour point. Toutes les couleurs sont autorisées sauf le chocolat, lilac, cannelle et faon.

les yeux : Grands, ronds, expressifs, espacés. Une harmonie de couleur entre la robe et celle des yeux est désirée.

L’American Wirehair apparu pour la première fois dans une ferme près de New York en 1966 (à la suite d’une mutation). Il présente la même morphologie. Sa robe se caractérise par des poils un peu crépus et rêches, se terminant par un léger crochet (« hook »). Les trois types de poils sont présents, donnant une robe dense, courte, voire moyenne à courte. Les moustaches sont ondulées.

L'american shorthair est affectueux, moyennement actif et émotif mais peu agressif. D’un tempérament très gentil, ce chat est parfaitement équilibré et stable.

Il est patient avec les enfants et accepte la présence d’autres chats ou de chiens. Il possède un caractère facile qui adore son maître. Il accepte la vie en appartement.

L'american shorthair est un compagnon parfait, sauf avec les souris, lapins et autres campagnols, vu leurs redoutables qualités de chasseurs !

AMERICAN shorthair

Medium in size, the American Shorthair cat is a rustic and typical hunter physics. He is very athletic, well muscled body.

His hair is short, dense and well polished. It shall be evenly distributed on the body.

All patterns are accepted except dot color. All colors are allowed except chocolate, lilac, cinnamon and fawn.

Eyes: Large, round, expressive, spaced. A color harmony between the dress and the eye is desired.

The American Wirehair appeared for the first time on a farm near New York in 1966 (as a result of a mutation). It has the same morphology. Her dress is characterized by a little kinky and rough hair, ending in a slight hook ("hook"). The three types of bristles are present, giving a dense color, short, medium or short. The whiskers are wavy.

The American Shorthair is affectionate, moderately active and emotional but not aggressive. From a very nice temperament, this cat is perfectly balanced and stable.

The American Shorthair is a perfect companion except with mice, rabbits and other voles, given their formidable qualities hunters!
