ORIENTAL

oriental shorthair

Siam (ancienne Thaïlande), Asie du sud-est

Longiligne, svelte et musclé. La silhouette est équilibrée et élégante. La taille est moyenne à grande.

Le poids varie pour un mâle de 4 à 5 kg, pour une femelle de 2,5 à 3,5 kg

Identique au chat siamois mais à la robe unie, parfois tigrée. Les yeux sont vert. Les poils sont courts. L’oriental est un chat « bavard » et communicatif. Il possède une voix forte. Il craint la solitude.

Le mandarin est la variété de l' oriental à poils mi-longs. Il possède les mêmes caractéristiques, mis à part la longueur de la robe, que son cousin shorthair.

Toutes les couleurs de robe sont acceptées.

Et ceci suivant les patrons : - uni (uniforme) - tabby (blotched, mackerel, spotted) - silver (argenté) - smoke (fumée)

Les yeux sont de taille moyenne, en amande, placés légèrement en oblique. Les yeux sont vert émeraude ou jade. Sauf l'oriental blanc qui a des yeux bleus.

Câlin, super affectueux, pot de colle, possessif, exclusif, jaloux, très actif, et très curieux.

Chat essentiellement d’intérieur. Il est très proche de son maître, ce sont des "chats-chiens". Il aime se dépenser et sera toujours présent à vos côtés dans vos activités. Compagnon idéal pour tous les âges. Il s’entend bien avec d’autres animaux ainsi qu’avec des enfants. Il n'admet pas l'indifférence.
