NAME | BURMESE |
SIZE | The burmese European type (English) is an elegant cat, medium size, muscular and slender body. It does not look like the Siamese (slender) or the British (too picked up). The American Burmese type is more compact, heavier than its European cousin. His bone structure and musculature are well dévelopées and robust. |
WEIGHT | Male: 5 to 6.5 kg; female: 3.5 to 4.5 kg |
ORIGIN | Birmania (Myanmar) |
CHARACTER | The Burmese cat is a stable and affectionate nature (it is sometimes called "dog-cat"). IL is full of energy and very outgoing, with a strong personality. He is also a tireless player. It is quite talkative, but his voice is softer than that of the Siamese. |
CARACTERISTICS | this cat is pretty even-tempered and makes a pleasant companion always present without being overbearing. The Burmese is very sociable because he loves the company and can not stand alone. It is dominant with respect to its congeners. Rather calm and composed, they can have greater activity moments when they play with their master or leave in a part of imaginary hunting. And this regardless of endroi: apartment or garden. |
The Burmese is characterized by its very short hair and dress pattern sepia (Sepia: It includes ends (mask, ears, paws and tail) but with a dark body color supported making little difference between the body and ends). The English Burmese differs from its American brother by successive marriages with Siamese (old type) and thus an abundance of other colors. The Burmese was used to create BOMBAY after crossing with the American Shorthair. The burmeses cats having silver or silver shaded are called BURMILLA (Persian crossing Chinchila x Burmese). The crossing Siamese x Burmese gave TYFFANY. The American burmese seal remains in sepia colors (sometimes called Sable), blue sepia, chocolate sepia lilac and sepia. The fur is almost without undercoat. It is shiny and soft to the touch, gloss or satin. |
